May Is National Foster Care Month

5月 17, 2021 | By Leslie B. Spoltore

National Foster Care Month is an initiative led and promoted by the Children’s Bureau of the U.S. Department of Health and Social Services. At this time each year, the Bureau takes the opportunity to acknowledge foster parents, family members, volunteers, mentors, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and other members of the community who work tirelessly to help the more than 423,000 children in foster care across the country to find permanent homes.

While the initiative is national, the focus is local.  Delaware residents can find out more about supporting children in foster care by contacting the Division of Family Services at 302.633.2657 or DSCYF_FosterCare@delaware.gov
